Tweedy Art Goes “GOLD”

20 November 2008 236 views No Comment
Jim Tweedy, (Henrietta's "Maker") has outdone himself with his latest gift to a rescue group, Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue. On November 8th, Hollywood Frame Gallery sponored a fundraiser for GBGRR in which Jim's original artwork, "In Goldens We Trust," was auctioned off, along with other great items including a trip to Mexico. Not only did Jim's art rock but so did the food! The highlight of the buffet was Bayou City Seafood n' Pasta's cold boiled shrimp and ceviche with mango and avocado, while the highlight of the parking lot was Chris Mannery's pack of Bayou City spokesdogs; Justice, Zeus, Thor, Nanook, and the adorable and quickly-growing Glacier! GBGRR was "bullish on Gold", and their optimism paid off in a great fundraiser for Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue.  If you were unable to attend, the signed, limited-edition prints of "In Goldens We Trust" are still available at Hollywood Frame Galley, 2427 Bissonnet, as are gifts for Golden lovers - check out all of Jim Tweedy's artwork ("Golden Retriever Self-Portrait", "Friendly Doggies" and the "Charlie the RedCat" series) AND their array of Golden Retriever necklaces and earrings - of course, other breeds are available too.  And ask for your "HFG/GB Economic Stimulus Check," a unique bail-out package that offers discounts on all merchandise and framed art-work (but not on framing). Thanks again to Jim Tweedy and Hollywood Frame Gallery and to Chris Mannery of Bayou City Seafood n' Pasta! Special thanks also go to Don Puryear of Happy Tails Dog Spa, Premium Pet Products, Orvis, Gina Craig, Martha Murphy, Joanie Patrick and Kris Brown, and the whole gang of wonderful GB volunteers!
