March Madness

No, I'm not talking about Basketball for all you crazy-loving hoopsters out there...I'm talking about how crazy busy March is for Houston pet events. If you've been holed up, crying in your Chardonnay over the pork-fat in the stimulus bill that we all know won't put a single nickel in our pockets, it's time to get past your economic hangover and realize that Houston is the place where everyone wants to be. What recession? Why, just the other day I had to wait in line behind 6 people at the new Chocolate Bar on University Blvd. to buy my weekly ration of chocolate covered gummy bears...it was crowded and full of chocoholics like me that were spending money. Then I meandered over to my favorite sushi bar, RA Sushi, (notice how I eat chocolate BEFORE my meals...I told mom it's what keeps my ears curly and she believed me!). It was equally crowded with afternoon fish fanciers ready to spend $$$ on lunch so I say there is no recession...just a pro-cession of useless politicians. So get out there with your pets, kids, families, goldfish or whatever you have and enjoy these upcomig events:   March 7 - Houston SPCA Mutt Strutt, IAH Airport, 8am start.  March 14 - West”MUTT”ster Dog Walk LaCenterra shopping center in Cinco Ranch benefiting Special Pals  March 15- 20th Annual AIDS Walk Houston where you can support the SNAP Animal Aid program.  March 22 - Houston SPCA K9 Fun Run - Sam Houston Park downtown, noon start. March 28-29 - Pearland Parks & Recreation’s 15th Annual Paws in the Park  National Dock Diving Competition, US National Disc Dog Tournament. Be sure to keep your fabulous pooch on a leash, pick up their leftovers and remember, don't use a flexi-lead or you may get a Henrietta Citation! Have fun and send me some pics of your fun day to henrietta@houstonpettalk.com.
