Don’t Miss Dock Dogs In High-Flying Competition This Weekend
Don’t miss Dock Dogs at Discovery Green as they rock the park starting Friday, June 26 with their jumping, leaping and fetching. In the sport, water dogs compete in height and length of jump as they retrieve toys thrown in the water by trainers. Dock Dogs events have been a surprise hit for the Outdoor Channel, which televises matches.
Participants and their owners travel from around the country to compete in amateur, semi-pro and pro events. Not surprisingly, Labs are the predominant breed in the competition. To learn more about this fun sport right here in Houston, visit Houston Dock Dogs on the Web.
Discovery Green has been a popular destination with Houstonians and visitors to the city since its official opening on April 13, 2008. Located in downtown Houston across from the George R. Brown Convention Center, Discovery Green is 12 acres of urban green space including one-acre lake, children’s playground area, interactive water features, multi-use amphitheater stage and sloping lawn, small and large dog runs, and two restaurants, the Grove and Lake House operated by Schiller Del Grande Restaurant Group.
