Friends For Life Animal Shelter and Sanctuary in The Heights, a no-kill rescure and adoption organization, has been helping animals find loving homes for six years.
They have adoption events from the newly opened location at 246 W. 19th as well as from the Petsmart adoption center at 2902 S. Shepherd.
Friends For Life gratefully welcomes volunteers, fosters and of course, adopters!
While Friends For Life primarily focuses on cats and dogs, they also have had ferrets, rabbits and other small animals in the adoption program.
Last year, their "Thinking Outside the Shelter" program helped 12,000 animals to stay out of the shelter system by providing direct assistance to owners and fosters.
To volunteer or adopt visit them online at www.nokill1.org.

Friends for Life is a wonderful organization. They are doing amazing work helping to keep pets out of shelters and in their homes, where they belong. Their insightful ideas could help Houston become a No Kill city.
Please visit their beautiful new shelter and volunteer.
Friends for Life is truly a God sent blessing to all animals. Salise and her “angels” work tirelessly for the well being of their wonderful furry and feathered friends. Thank you!!!
You’re so right Terry!! I’ve never worked with such caring folks for all animal species. They truly “walk the walk”!! I’m the proud owner of a rescue dog, not from here – but none-the-less – she is the most wonderful dog and knows she has landed in “heaven”. I’m proud to be associated with “Friends For Life” and hope more people will adopt and/or foster.
