Henrietta Is Ready To Party!

I used to wonder why my mom and other humans seemed to be so elated on Fridays. That was until I started working. I know you think being a gossip hound is easy work but it’s not…wearing high heels on four feet is double trouble and if you think that’s bad, try putting on 4-legged pantyhose!

March Madness

No, I’m not talking about Basketball for all you crazy-loving hoopsters out there…I’m talking about how crazy busy March is for Houston pet events. If you’ve been holed up, crying in your Chardonnay over the pork-fat in the stimulus bill that we all know won’t put a single nickel in our pockets, it’s time to get past your economic hangover and realize that Houston is the place where everyone wants to be. What recession? Why, just the other day I had to wait in line behind 6 people at the …

Dog Products Palooza!

In my book of life, I have an entire chapter dedicated to after Christmas sales! There is truly no feeling as when you get a Ruff Lauren blazer for 75% off! What really rocks is that every major designer has jumped on the doggie bandwagon with fabulous new products including apparel, accessories, carriers, beds and yes, dog palaces!…(too pricey for my Platinum Paws credit card)!
My mom always said, “You don’t have to own something to appreciate it”. Although I think she was barking about humans and dogs, I’ll take the …

Houston Ferret Wins Major Title

Merlin pulled a trick from his hat…he took top honors of Best In Show at the Heart of Ohio Ferret Association (HOFA) Ferret Buckeye Bash Ferret Show.  It is the largest Ferret show in the US.

Never been to a ferret show? Neither have I but I bet it’s a blast!! Merlin and his other Houston compadres (Sophie and Darth) competed in categories such as the Color Class where Darth took 4th place in Black Sable, Passport Required (the ferret must have some foreign blood in them) where Sophie took 4th place, Late Alter …

Henrietta Goes To The Tennis Club

After numerous discussions around the fire hydrant, my girlfriends and I decided we should take up a new sport to “open our horizons”. The consensus among moi amigos (is it ok to mix French and Spanish?) is that several criteria must be satisfied in our new sporting adventure.

First and foremost, it’s all about how you look. The outfit for the sport must be cute, fashionable enough to wear to the après bone bar and have “accommodations” for our tail. That leaves out golf (name one person who looks sexy in …

Obama Wins – I Never Have To Work Again!

I’ve never considered myself a political “animal” but I couldn’t help getting into the dogfight this election turned out to be (actually, when I think about it, all elections are dogfights. Maybe McCain should have hired Michael Vick to be his campaign manager because that’s someone that really “digs” dogfighting and has a heart of stone…perfect for politics). Now that I have officially come of age to vote, which I took full advantage of (I took every poll, campaign sticker, button and sign offered), it’s interesting to look back at …

Henrietta Says “Vote Today Houston”!

[caption id="attachment_389" align="alignleft" width="233" caption="Henrietta Wants You To Vote!"][/caption]

I am posting this blog while waiting in line to vote. I’ve been to Starbarks and have my Double Tall “Skinny” Vanilla Latte and I can’t wait to get in that voting booth! It will be my first time to exercise the greatest freedom known to man, the freedom to decide (You only have to be 18 in dog years to vote in case you were wondering).

Now, for this big occasion I didn’t know what to wear but settled on my Ruff …
