Crime Stoppers has a new plan to put a dent in a crime that law
enforcement says is increasing in Harris County.
On Wednesday they announced the second annual animal cruelty and
anti-dog fighting campaign.
Investigators are targeting a quarter mile area east of U.S. 59 off of
West Little York known as the “Corridor of Cruelty.”
It’s one of the saddest locations in all of Houston that’s been
frustrating officers and animal lovers for more than a year.
People come there to dump unwanted animals.
“It is a crime to dump live animals,” said Belinda Smith, Harris County
Assistant District Attorney.

If your dog is digging in the backyard, this can be a hard habit to break if you don’t understand the cause and some simple but effective cures. Dogs digging in the yard is one of the most common behavior problems, but as with all dog training, consistency, repetition and patience are part of the solution.
So why do dogs dig in the yard to begin with? The most common reason is boredom. Dogs are intelligent creatures and they are pack animals. If you stick your dog out in the back yard, your dog does not get any intellectual stimulation, he will also have barrier frustration because he can hear and smell things beyond the fence but he can’t investigate them, and he’s lonely. Dogs need to be part of your family, they are pack animals. Try to imagine how you would feel if you were isolated all the time with nothing to do.

1. Do you have any recommendations for Hypoallergenic cat litter?
Regular clay litter is probably as hypoallergenic as you can get, however, it can be dusty, which may bother some cats as well as their owners. Yesterdays news would probably be a good choice as it is made of compressed pelleted newspaper. The ink may be a problem for some owners who are sensitive to it. Corn cob litter is an organic choice for owners that may prefer this.
