New Puppy Tips

It’s puppy season! Bringing home your new puppy is very exciting. There is so much work to be done! Be prepared for some sleepless nights, lots of patience, and some hard work. Two of the most common misconceptions that new owners have are: (A) The new puppy understands language and (B) The new puppy already knows how they are expected to behave in a home. Dog Products Palooza!

In my book of life, I have an entire chapter dedicated to after Christmas sales! There is truly no feeling as when you get a Ruff Lauren blazer for 75% off! What really rocks is that every major designer has jumped on the doggie bandwagon with fabulous new products including apparel, accessories, carriers, beds and yes, dog palaces!…(too pricey for my Platinum Paws credit card)!
My mom always said, “You don’t have to own something to appreciate it”. Although I think she was barking about humans and dogs, I’ll take the …

Toilet Training Your Cat? Here’s How!

Jack Byrnes would be proud. The uptight character played by Robert De Niro in Meet The Parents made us laugh at the very idea of toilet training his cat, Mr. Jinx. In one comedic turn, Byrnes popularized something all cat lovers universally wish they could do: rescue their furry friends from the evils of litter - the odor, the clean up, the cost. Now, a quirky new gift book arrives in stores to offer felines a nine-step program for leaving litter behind.

Combining ironic humor with an utterly practical guide, ‘KiCK LiTTER: Nine-Step Program for Recovering Litter Addicts’ (November 2008, CDA Press) follows the adventures of two cats, Moxie and Cooper (and the big guy who feeds them), taking their message of recovery from litter addiction to the masses.
