Fort Bend Cares 2nd Annual Doggone Fun Run

The Doggone Fun Run includes a competitive chip timed 5K Run (without dogs) and a 5K and a 1 mile Fun Run/Walk (with or without dogs). There will be medals for age group winners of the competitive 5K Run along with prizes for winners of the ‘canine costume competition’. Come early and stay late to peruse vendor booths, enjoy DJ music, learn tips from a local dog trainer, and more.

Take advantage of early registration through March 13 for $25 per person or $75 for a family of three or more. Registration fee increases after March 13. Each registrant will receive a t-shirt and a bandana for their favorite dog. On race day, t-shirts and bandanas are only available while supplies last. Dog owners must ensure canine participants are on a non-retractable leash and must show proof of current rabies vaccination. To register for the event go to www.fortbendcares.org.

Fort Bend Cares, a charitable foundation, has raised over $1.2 million dollars over the last 10 years to support nonprofit organizations that serve disadvantaged children and youth in Fort Bend County. This year, Fort Bend Cares will donate a small portion of proceeds from the Doggone Fun Run to the Sugar Land Animal Services shelter.

Help Citizens for Animal Protection raise money for their shelter pets!


Grab a leash & bring your precious pooch to Central Green Park in LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch for a fun-filled morning of activities, including a 1 mile dog walk, doggie costume contest, rescue groups, pet expo, celebrity judges, awesome prizes, delicious snacks, and tons of fun for you and your pet!

Great Prizes From Rover Oaks Pet Resort including a Weekend Lodging Package, an Obedience Training Course and Day at the Doggie Spa.



$25 per dog ($35 day-of event) includes dog walk and costume contest entry.

Attendees must purchase one ticket per pet.

All proceeds go to the CAP animal shelter. Tickets can be purchased at www.cap4pets.org.

The first 200 registrants will receive a free t-shirt, goodie bag, and one night of boarding at Rover Oaks Pet Resort!

Thanks to you, last year’s strut resulted in a lot of wagging tails and money raised!  Throw on some comfy shoes, leash up your dog, and join us, once again, for Best Friends Animal Society’s 2nd Annual Strut Your Mutt in Houston. 

Who: Anyone who wants to walk the walk – nay, strut their stuff! – for homeless pets in Houston or around the nation

What: A leisurely fundraising dog walk and fun run with your dog, followed by a doggie-themed festival that includes pet contests, photos, doggie goodies, fun activities for the whole family, including food, refreshments and more

Where: TC Jester Park, 4201 W T C Jester Blvd, Houston, TX 77018

When: Saturday, September 20, 2014 Registration opens at 7:00 a.m.

Why: To raise money for your favorite local animal welfare group (any of Best Friends’ local No More Homeless Pets Network partners) or for Best Friends Animal Society, and to help Save Them All®

And this isn’t just a fund raiser.   At Strut Your Mutt, dogs and their families share a leisurely walk and fun run, followed by a festival for all things dog.  Doggie yoga, pet portraits, refreshments, music, contests and post-run pet massages all contribute to this fantastic event geared to raise awareness and funds for homeless pets. Don’t want to be out in the Houston heat, or can’t make the event on Sept. 20th?  Please consider being a virtual participant.  You can do that from you couch;)  But please sign up in May if possible. Sign up to be part of our group (MSRH) and you can Strut with us or even do some fundraising your self if you like.    If you want to join our group (no matter what kind of dog you have) please sign up to join MSRH  in the Strut your Mutt Houston 2014.   You can bring your doggies and enjoy the festivities of the day as well as the Strut your Mutt. There will be Costume contests, Pet/Owner look alike contests, all kinds of fun things to do.  So join us.   For the month of May your fee to join is $25 and that also can be your donation!!  After May, the registration fee goes up to $30. strutyourmutt.org/team/MSRH Miniature Schnauzer Rescue will be Strutting our Mutts and we would love for you to join our team or support us.  You do not have to own/foster a schnauzer, or even a dog.  Anyone can join or donate.    Anyone who donates money will get a letter from MSRH, a non-profit, all volunteer organization as your donations are tax deductible.

2nd Annual The Dog Walk benefiting Hermann Park Conservancy presented by Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets are proud to announce the return of the 2nd annual The Dog Walk, benefiting Hermann Park Conservancy*.  The Rockets have also chosen Hermann Park Conservancy as their Charity of the Month for the month of April 2014.

The Dog Walk will feature a picturesque, one-mile walk around McGovernLake and the Jones Reflection Pool located within the heart of HermannPark.  All participants will receive one ticket to the April 6 game vs. Denver, plus a commemorative T-shirt for the owners and doggie giveaways for our four-legged companions.  A portion of the proceeds will go to the creation of a dog park within HermannPark. Animal Aid Program (AAP)

AAP helps dogs and cats of those living with HIV/AIDS.

Study after study has shown that animal companions not only help people living with illness live happier lives but also more healthy lives. Sadly, all too often persons living with HIV/AIDS must surrender their furry friends due to the financial burdens they face. With this in mind, SNAP created the Animal Aid Program (AAP).

AAP provides free and reduced-cost services to dogs and cats living in families affected by HIV and AIDS.

Sterilization, available free of charge through SNAP, is required for all dogs and cats receiving care through the Animal Aid Program.DISCOUNTED SERVICES:

Third Annual 4 Paws Dog Walk and Festival

About the Event
Come with the kids, gather a team, or just bring your dog. Many people enjoy walking as part of a team, while some just enjoy a day’s outing with their family, friends, or dog. Any way you like it, come join us!

The Gabriel Institute is a non-profit organization developing new treatments for canine cancer.

Proceeds benefit canine cancer research and treatment, and best of all, a major sponsor will match every dollar raised with a donation to MD Anderson’s children’s bone cancer programs.

$10 Per Dog

  • Walkup registration begins at 9:00 the day of the event

  • Pets must be on a leash, crated or in an x-pen at all times. 4Paws is not responsible for the actions of your pet. Pets must be under control at all times.
  • Pets must be current on vaccinations.
  • Pets must be sociable with other animals, adults and children and not aggressive about food toys or owner.
  • Pets must be comfortable in a loud and festive environment. Please be aware of the stress level of your pet at all times. We want this to be a positive experience for everyone.
  • Pets must be at least 4 months old since younger animals have weak or no immune systems.
  • Sponsers reserve the right to refuse entrance or ask to leave anyone whose pet is exhibiting aggressive behavior.
  • No retractable leashes.
