On Saturday, September 27th at 10:00 am, First United Methodist Church of Conroe (Hwy. 105 W. just a few miles west of Loop 336) will be hosting a Blessing of the Animals Service in the back church parking lot. The entire community is invited to this free of charge event where every animal in attendance will receive his/her own special, individual blessing. The Methodist Book of Worship contains this brief service which exemplifies how we should all love, care and be concerned for all of God’s creatures. This will be the seventh year that FUMC has hosted this service and we are looking forward to meeting all of the wonderful people in our area who consider his or her pet to be a member of the family. Even if you don’t have a pet, please come on over any way and enjoy this special service that reminds us that people have a responsibility of stewardship for ALL of God’s creation, which includes animals that exist in the wild as well as our companion animals. Joining us that morning will be representatives from SPCA PETS SNAP of Montgomery County. Pure Mutts Animal Sanctuary and Cocker Spaniel Rescue. Thanks to Conroe Mayor Webb Melder, September 27th will be proclaimed “Bless the Animals Day” for the City of Conroe! So pets, bring your people and come on down!
