Relieve the Pain of Allergies!

catWhat do irritated, itchy skin, itchy, red and watery eyes, sneezing and runny noses have in common? Allergies!! Animals suffer from all of these same symptoms just as people do, and can affect them in various ways whether it is a seasonal, environmental , food or topical allergy. Which allergy does your animal suffer from? Do you even know which type of allergy it is?

What exactly is an “allergy”? An allergy begins when the body reacts abnormally to a substance that would ordinarily be harmless. The immune system starts to recognize these “allergens” as a danger to the body when the allergen is inhaled, ingested or makes contact with the skin. The body or immune system then tries to rid itself of the danger, and as a result various skin, respiratory and digestive issues may manifest as ear infections, oily and smelly skin, constant paw licking, hair loss, GI disorders, red inflamed skin and lots of itching all over.  When these symptoms occur we want to eliminate the allergen of the ordinarily harmless substance from the animal’s world. The biggest problem in accomplishing this task is knowing exactly what the allergen or allergens are. Like many holistic vets and naturopaths it becomes easier when you know how to muscle test.  Muscle testing allows you to figure out first if it is environmental such as trees, grasses, pollens, insects, parasites or even cleaning products or if it is a food allergy such as grains, corn, soy, wheat, dairy or certain proteins.   Most chronic skin issues are related to the diet and can be eliminated or lessened by keeping the digestive tract healthy and the immune system strong.  Allergies present themselves when the body is out of balance and you can muscle test to find out the origin of the imbalance (environment or food) so that you can find the best natural remedy or method to get rid of the allergens and bring the body back to balance.
