Houston Cat Shot With Arrow

image002 Houston Cat Shot With ArrowIt’s so heartbreaking to see an animal injured purposely and so disgusting to think of the human that can inflict such pain. The cat, now named Cupid, is being treated by BARC. Local residents noticed the cat for several days but were unable to catch him until a BARC Animal Control Officer was able to trap him, bring him in, and start treatment.  BARC coordinated transfer to a local rescue and vet, which x-rayed prior to any treatment to determine if surgery would be safe.  Everyone is optimistic at this point for the poor guy’s recovery.

Law enforcement has no leads at this time so if you know of any information in this case which occurred in the Katy area near Greenhouse Rd, please contact BARC.

CORRECTION – Cupid was not taken to Brittmoore by BARC. BARC issued a plea to rescue groups and fosters. Kitty City Ferals and Purr Paws Rescue partnered to get Cupid out of BARC and to Brittmoore first thing Wednesday morning to have the arrow removed. Cupid has been released from Brittmoore Animal Hospital back to his foster home. He’s currently being cared for by a volunteer from Purr Paws Rescue. You can follow the Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/purrpawsrescue for updates.

Also, this did not happen in the Katy area. The kitty was picked up on Knollcrest – East Houston near I-10 between 610 & Beltway 8.

While most of the story is true alot of your facts are not accurate. The cat was treated by Brittmore Animal Hospital, not BARC. Also it did not happen anywhere near greenhouse rd

I wish that the a$$hole that did this could have the exact same thing done to him!!! This kind of cruelty is just senseless and until harsher punishments are given it will continue. Just because a cat or dog can’t speak doesn’t mean it doesn’t have feelings emotionally or physically!!!
