Howl-O-Ween Dog Walk & Costume Contest To Help Homeless Pets At Citizens for Animal Protection!

Local animal shelter Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) and Rover Oaks Pet Resort are teaming up to present the eighth annual Howl-O-Ween Dog Walk, Costume Contest & Expo in Central Green Park in LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch (23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd) on October 17, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The entire community is invited to bring their costumed canines and hit the streets of Katy’s premier shopping area for a one-mile walk followed by a spirited costume contest and expo featuring fun for everyone. The events will raise money to help the shelter animals at CAP. The first 200 participants will receive complimentary goody bags, a commemorative t-shirt and a free night of lodging at Rover Oaks.

The fun begins at 8:00am with registration and refreshments, leading up to the one-mile walk that kicks off at 9:00 am. Hundreds of pet owners will fill Central Green Park in LaCenterra, raising much-needed funds to support CAP and their mission of sheltering, rescuing and placing homeless animals. Participants and their pups will enjoy a walk around beautiful Commercial Lake located just across the street from LaCenterra.

Does your pup have the spookiest or kookiest costume on the block? Then give your pooch a chance to strut its stuff in the Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest beginning at 10 a.m. Whether scary or sweet, your dog will surely be the “bark of the block” while competing for great prizes and treats including a Weekend Lodging Package, an Obedience Training Course, and a Doggie Day at the Spa from Rover Oaks Pet Resort. Owners are welcome to join the costume fun, too!

The festivities continue throughout the morning in Central Green, where you and your pup will enjoy socializing with other precious pooches while visiting pet-focused vendors and information booths. Looking to adopt or foster an animal in need? Adoptable animals from Pup Squad, Basset Buddies, Short Mugs Rescue Squad, Boston Terrier Rescue and Cocker Spaniel Rescue will be attending and ready to meet their new “forever” families!

Register your pet now at bit.ly/1ibBKYM! Registration is $25 per pet ($35 for day-of registration), and all proceeds from this event will go towards CAP’s mission of sheltering, rescuing and placing homeless animals, “Speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves!” Last year’s event raised over $15,000 for CAP! Avoid any lines and save money by pre-registering for the walk and the contest.
