Local Mascots Team Up to Help Homeless Pets Find Forever Homes!
Free, family-friendly event featuring mascots from around the city.
Houston, TX: The Houston Humane Society (HHS) is hosting Meet the Mascots, a free, family-friendly event, on Saturday, August 10th from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. The general public is invited out to Houston Humane Society to visit with area mascots who are teaming up to help HHS find forever homes for the hundreds of pets currently waiting to find a family at their location.

Mascot Schedule:
Clutch (Houston Rockets), 12 – 1 p.m.
Orbit (Houston Astros), 1 – 2 p.m.
Diesel (Houston Dynamo), 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Moe (Sugar Land Skeeters), 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Shasta (University of Houston), 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Swoop (Houston Community College), 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Auto (Texas Direct Auto), 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
ReUseIt (City of Houston), 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Slicey (Papa Murphy’s), 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
In addition, HHS will have pizza samples from Papa Murphy’s, samples from Kind Bar, popcorn and an e-book signing for Pickles and the World Cup. Adopters will save big at the event, all dog adoptions will be reduced to $60 and cat adoptions will be reduced to $25. All adoptions at the Houston Humane Society include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, routine vaccinations, general health exam, rabies vaccine, de-worming, heartworm test in dogs over 6 months and feline leukemia test in cats, and an adoption kit.
