Adoptions Half-Price through This Weekend!
BARC will host a Grand Opening Event for its new Cat Adoption Building on Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. The Cat Adoption Building will showcase cats and kittens for adoption. This new space is dedicated entirely to felines and features 85 enclosures, two “Get Acquainted” rooms with benches for adopters, two large sunlit “Free Roam” rooms, and space to administer medications and manage data files.
BARC will continue its half-price adoption promotion through this weekend. There has been no better time to adopt than now!
BARC encourages citizens to come explore the new building and to take advantage of a number of other services being offered by BARC and our private partners. Friends of BARC, an essential partner, will host its weekly Wags to Whiskers event and will offer their customary free hot dogs and hamburgers. Donations are always welcome for the best grilled dogs in the City!
BARC will offer discounted prices for mandatory City licenses. Dr. Susan Pickle, DVM, of the Alvin-Friendswood Animal Clinic will graciously offer microchips, in addition to discounted rabies and other dog and cat vaccinations. Photographer Robyn Arouty will be available to take “family photos” with your freshly-groomed pet.
BARC encourages Houston residents to come experience this great new facility, and to lend a hand to our voiceless friends in a time of need. For further information regarding how to volunteer or foster BARC animals, and for operating information, please visit our website at www.houstonbarc.com.
