The Canine Health Institute, located at 3800 Southwest Freeway, Suite 136, (77027), will celebrate their Grand Opening on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Beginning at 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM the event will benefit Citizens for Animal Protection’s Shelter and Pet Adoption Center.
The Canine Health Institute is the first of its kind in Houston to focus on canine pain management and rehabilitation. Out of their love for dogs, Dr. Jeffery Kozak, a spinal surgeon, and his wife Vickey, founded Canine Health Institute (CHI). No facilities offered the combined specialty services they believe are essential to a total quality care environment. CHI offers custom fit services that include Canine Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Stem Cell Therapy, Diagnostic Imaging, Treadmill and Underwater Treadmill and more. The CHI mission is to provide the standards of human pain management to the animal world with integrity, focus and a commitment to excellence.
CITIZENS FOR ANIMAL PROTECTION has been serving pets and people in Greater Houston since 1972. CAP shelters and cares for over 12,000 animals each year, offers pet adoptions seven days a week, provides pet facilitated therapy for the elderly in nursing homes, provides animal rescue and lost and found assistance, educates the public on the need for spaying/neutering pets to reduce the pet overpopulation crises in addition to offering many other service programs with the goal of eliminating inhumane treatment and suffering of animals. CAP has been awarded a 4-star rating for sound fiscal management for the seventh year in a row by Charity Navigator, America’s premier nonprofit evaluator. Only 1% of the charities rated nationwide have achieved this exceptional distinction. www.cap4pets.org
