You are invited to participate in a very special event.  Scout’s Honor Rescue, Inc. is hosting its third annual Movie Night and Silent Auction fundraiser beginning at 6:30 pm on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at the beautiful Rockefeller Hall (3620 Washington Avenue). We need your help to make it a success. Tickets are subject to availability so PLEASE ACT FAST!!

All proceeds will benefit the formerly homeless dogs and cats in Scout’s Honor Rescue’s program.  This year, the “movie” during the auction will be Scout’s Honor Rescue’s dogs and cats featured on the big screen!

Scout’s Honor was formed in May 2006 by six volunteer rescuers who decided to pool our experience and love for animals to make a difference in Houston.  Scout’s Honor is often the last resort for animals abandoned to die in pounds or on the streets.  Scout’s Honor rescues animals from Houston and surrounding areas, including animals from BARC (the Houston city pound) and the City of La Porte animal shelter.  Our program is not limited to healthy animals or to particular breeds, and we often save animals from abusive situations.  Since the formation of Scout’s Honor, we have rescued over 1700 animals, providing them permanent loving homes and a second chance.   There are currently over 170 dogs and cats in our program awaiting adoption.  You can make a difference in the lives of these animals.

The work of Scout’s Honor is supported solely by tax-deductible donations.  Please consider attending the event, becoming a sponsor, and/or donating an item to our silent auction.  Again, a ticket order form and a donation form are attached! As a sponsor or silent-auction item donor, your name and donation would be advertised in our auction program, and you would receive a receipt for your tax-deductible contribution.  For silent auction items, the deduction would be at the item’s fair market value.

We hope to fill Rockefeller Hall to capacity, and we can’t do it without your help.  General admission tickets are available for a suggested donation of $30 each, and they include participation in the silent auction, a goodie bag loaded with surprises, and complimentary valet parking.  Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will also be provided, as well as a cash bar.

Of course, any donation is appreciated regardless of the amount.  I often reflect on how I spoil my six permanent rescues, and then as always, I think of the dogs and cats that have been abandoned or abused and how easily we can make a difference in the lives of those animals . . . dogs and cats that NEED food, a home, and someone to love (and love them) unconditionally.  To that end, 100% of the contributions to Scout’s Honor will be meaningfully applied and will achieve tangible results in animal rescue.

Thank you in advance for your support of this important event.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly at lcarlock@gibbsbruns.com.  Together we can make a difference in the lives of our four-legged friends in need!

Scout’s Honor Rescue is an all-breed, no-kill, Not-For-Profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization committed to bringing Courage, Character and Compassion to Houston’s homeless pet population and making a positive difference in the lives of these stray and abandoned animals and the Houston community as a whole. 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to saving the life of a homeless animal.
