Spring, TX, October 17, 2011 – Susan Adam, manager of Best Friends Pet Care in Spring, has been honored for outstanding managerial performance by Best Friends Pet Care Inc., the leader in the U.S. pet boarding industry.
Adam was selected as “Manager of the Year” from among the company’s 42 pet care center managers in recognition of her outstanding achievement. The award was presented at the company’s Managers Conference last week. The meeting was held in Norwalk CT and attended by Best Friends managers from across the U.S. and by corporate leadership.
“Susan is an exceptional manager and leader,” says John Heyder, President and CEO of Best Friends Pet Care, Inc. “Not only is she an effective planner and a strong executor of plans, she knows how to motivate her staff and how to build great relationships with her clients. We are proud to have her on our team and delighted to honor her with this award.”
Adam, a native Texan from El Paso, joined Best Friends in 2003 as assistant manager at the company’s pet care center in Ashland MA. She was promoted to manager of the neighboring Sudbury MA location in 2005. In 2009, she was offered a move to Texas to take over the leadership of Spring center, an opportunity that gave her a chance to return to her home state.
Adam credits her clients and associates with her success: “I have the greatest customers with the greatest pets, and a staff who love their work.”
Prior to joining Best Friends, Adam worked in the retail and hospitality industries. The Woodlands resident shares her home with two cats and a dog.
