National Train Your Dog Month was created by the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) to bring awareness to the importance of socialization and training, and most of all, to inform the public that training your dog can be easy and fun! They selected January as the perfect month because so many dogs and puppies are adopted or brought home during the winter holidays. Their desire is to help new and existing pet parents start off the new year right while drawing attention to the benefits of positive training and building a strong relationship with your dog.
Join Rover Oaks’ Director of Training and Behavior, Michael Baugh, for a fun and eye-opening workshop titled Easy Training: How to get your Dog to Stop, Listen and Obey at Rover Oaks Katy on January 17th and Rover Oaks Houston on January 25th. “Training your dog really is easier than you think. There’s no mystery, and you can do it,” says Michael Baugh, CPDT-KA. “We are excited to offer this free workshop so that we can show participants how beneficial consistent, positively-reinforced training can be to the happiness of your dog and the entire household.”
