Our baby bunnies are officially clocking in for their very first shift.
On Saturday, November 14, we’re turning the Houston Rabbit Resource Center into a Bunny Cafe where you can grab a snack, find a comfy spot on the floor, and spend some time with our youngest little employees.
The service may be questionable.
The waitstaff will be adorable.
These babies may be tiny, but their expenses are definitely not.
As they grow, they need plenty of hay, pellets, litter, enrichment, veterinary care, vaccines, and eventually spay/neuter surgery before they are ready for adoption.
The Bunny Cafe is their first fundraiser, and every ticket, sponsorship, tip, and donation helps us provide everything they need while they grow up in rescue.
They provide the customer service.
You help cover the benefits package.
Guests will reserve a 45-minute Bunny Cafe seating and spend that time relaxing with the babies while they explore and roam around the space.
We’ll have pillows, floor seating, and a few chairs available so you can get comfortable and let the bunnies come to you.
You can sit on the floor.
You can lie on the floor.
You can become a piece of furniture if a baby bunny decides you are one.
What you can’t do is pick them up.
Our babies will always get to choose how they interact. Guests may not chase, grab, corner, or pick up the rabbits, and we ask everyone to give them space whenever they decide they need a break.
We’ll have four timed seatings throughout the afternoon:
12:00 PM to 12:45 PM
1:00 PM to 1:45 PM
2:00 PM to 2:45 PM
3:00 PM to 3:45 PM
Space is limited in each seating so the room stays comfortable for both our guests and our tiny staff.
Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled seating for check-in and a quick review of our bunny interaction rules.
Tickets are $30 per person.
This event is for ages 8 and up.
Guests under 16 must attend with an adult, and every guest needs their own ticket.
Children attending should be comfortable sitting calmly and following our bunny interaction rules.
Your ticket includes your 45-minute Bunny Cafe experience and light refreshments for our human guests.
We’ll have a small selection of snacks and drinks available for our human guests during the event.
And of course, our employees expect tips.
Guests will have opportunities to make additional donations and “tip” the babies with bunny-safe treats approved by HRR.
Because these babies are still young, they will only be offered foods that are already part of their normal diet. Please do not bring outside treats or feed the rabbits anything that has not been provided or approved by HRR.
Want to help our smallest employees cover even more of their first big bills?
You can sponsor a Bunny Cafe table for $150.
Table sponsorships help support the babies’ food, supplies, veterinary care, enrichment, vaccines, and future spay/neuter surgeries.
Table sponsors receive:
Personal and family sponsorships are welcome too. Instead of a business logo, we can display your name or a short “Sponsored by” message.
Business sponsors should send us a high-quality logo by November 8 to guarantee inclusion on printed event signage.
Please note that table sponsorship does not include admission to the Bunny Cafe. Tickets must be purchased separately if you would also like to attend.
Every sponsorship allows us to put more of the money raised through this event directly toward their care.
Our priority is making sure this experience is fun for our guests while keeping the babies safe and comfortable.
Please remember:
Most of the Bunny Cafe experience happens at floor level, so wear something comfortable that you don’t mind getting a little bunny fur or hay on.
We will have chairs available for guests who are unable or prefer not to sit on the floor.
Our babies have a lot of growing to do before they are ready for their forever homes.
Until then, we get to make sure they have everything they need.
Come spend part of your Saturday with them, grab a snack, tip your server, and help us cover some of those very large grocery bills.
