Get ready for a Double! For the first time, the Houston Astros are expanding their popular Dog Day celebration into a two-day event, welcoming fans and their four-legged companions to Daikin Park on Saturday, August 22, and Sunday, August 23, for back-to-back canine-friendly baseball fun as the Astros take on the Athletics.
The family-friendly event offers plenty of activities designed with dogs in mind. Every Dog Day ticket includes access to the “Barking Room Only” area in Hall of Fame Alley and the Dog Zone in the Plaza on Crawford Street, where pups and their owners can enjoy special attractions throughout the day. Early arrivals will also have an extra incentive to get to the ballpark when gates open, as the first 500 dogs admitted each day will receive an exclusive Astros dog toy.
To participate, pet owners must purchase designated Dog Day tickets for both themselves and their dog, with one dog permitted per ticketed adult. Participants are also required to complete a Dog Day waiver and provide proof of current rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations before attending.
Organizers remind guests that responsible pet ownership is essential. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times, owners are expected to clean up after their pets, and water stations will be available throughout the event. Guests should also review Daikin Park’s clear bag policy and food and beverage guidelines before arriving. Dog strollers are permitted but cannot be stored in seating areas due to limited space.
